Quick answers to the most common court, booking, and membership questions.
New reservations open every morning at 8:00 AM via a lottery system:
Example: 4 people want Court 12 at 3 PM and 7 courts are open — one gets Court 12, the others are auto-assigned.
Using March 1st as today:
Yes — you can edit your reservation up to 24 hours before the scheduled time:
Prime time is when courts are not free to book — you can still reserve during prime time, but a fee applies based on your membership tier.
You can view the latest peak vs. off-peak hours at pb-haven.com/memberships.
Peak and off-peak hours are subject to change at any time based on demand, season, or other operational needs. Changes may occur with little or last-minute notice at PBH’s discretion.
Both your advance booking window and the number of courts you can hold at once scale with your membership tier. Visit our Membership Tiers page to view:
Not sure which tier you’re on? Check your membership details in the PBH app.
Yes — you can book a court during peak hours for practice, drilling, or private play. Court reservations during peak hours are available to all members.
Peak hour reservations are fee-based. The rate depends on your membership tier — higher tiers receive lower court fees and earlier booking windows. Check your tier benefits in the PBH app or on the Membership Tiers flyer.
Open the PBH app and follow these steps:
If you’re unable to complete the booking in the app, stop by the front desk and we’ll get you set up.
First, confirm you’re booking within the current off-peak window — check the latest hours at the front desk.
To book your free off-peak court:
Yes — off-peak hours apply to both weekdays and weekends, though the windows differ by day. You can view the latest peak vs. off-peak hours at pb-haven.com/memberships.
Peak and off-peak hours are subject to change at any time based on demand, season, or other operational needs. Changes may occur with little or last-minute notice at PBH’s discretion.
This situation won’t come up — the system will not allow you to create a reservation that extends past the off-peak window. Adjust your booking to stay within off-peak hours, or book a separate peak-hour reservation.
Ball machines and ball baskets are available for use on bookable court reservations only. They are not permitted on Open Play or Challenge Courts.
Using a PBH ball machine or basket:
You’re also welcome to bring your own ball basket or ball machine — just ensure you have a valid court reservation.
No — bringing an outside coach or running a private clinic on a bookable court is not permitted. Similarly, privately organized competitive events such as round robins, ladders, or tournaments are not allowed on bookable courts.
Any private instruction, planned clinic, or organized competitive event falls under our Private Event Policy and is subject to those pricing and scheduling terms.
Looking for coaching? PBH offers structured coaching programs and clinics with our on-site coach — check the app for upcoming sessions.
Yes — for members, guest pricing for court bookings is $7 per guest during off-peak and $15 per guest during peak periods.
Important rules:
Non-members can book an off-peak court reservation for $40 per hour, which includes up to 4 players total — no additional per-player fee within that group.
Want unlimited free off-peak court time? Consider becoming a member — visit the front desk or check our Membership Tiers at pb-haven.com.
Each cancellation adds to your penalty count. If you accumulate too many, you will lose the ability to book new court reservations.
To restore your booking access, visit or contact the front desk to have your penalty cleared.
No — penalty cancellations in the Pickleball Haven app apply only to court reservations, not to events. You can cancel clinic, league, or other event registrations (subject to the specific event’s cancellation policy) without affecting your court booking penalty count.
No — editing a reservation does not trigger a penalty. Penalties only apply when you cancel a court reservation, not when you modify it.
We know your court time matters. If PBH ever needs to cancel your reservation, we will notify you as early as possible with advance notice so you have time to rebook.
In those cases you can expect:
PBH-initiated cancellations will never count against your penalty count.
No — membership court time is intended for open recreational play. Privately organized round robins, ladders, or tournament-style formats are not permitted during member free play hours.
Check out the different Event Categories on the Pickleball Haven app to browse a wide and rotating calendar of ladders, round robins, Liveballs, and other competitive events!
Members are welcome to use the lobby seating area to relax and eat casually. However, anything involving catering, decorations, or a larger group of guests requires officially booking the room through PBH.
Members receive discounts on room rentals depending on the day and time of your event.
This policy applies to PBH-hosted clinics only and does not apply to Special Events (see next question).
Cancellation Rules
Cancel in App only — email, phone, or social media requests will not be processed.
All refunds are issued as Pickleball Haven account credit only — no credit card refunds.
A Special Event is when PBH hosts socials, tournaments, guest pro appearances, or clinics that involve a third party or significant advance planning — situations where last-minute cancellations leave spots we cannot easily fill in time.

Easy — just look at the event listing in the app. Special Events are tagged with a “Special Event” label so you always know which cancellation policy applies before you register.
No-shows forfeit their registration with no credit issued. For competitive events — round robins, ladders, tournaments, and similar formats — an additional $15 no-show fee applies on top of forfeiting your registration.
If something comes up, please cancel in the app as early as possible so your spot can be offered to someone on the waitlist.
Your advance booking window is how many days ahead you can book a court based on your membership tier. For example, if your tier allows 4 days advance booking, you can reserve courts up to 4 days from today.
Your outstanding reservations are all future court bookings currently on your calendar. Your membership tier sets a cap on how many you can hold at one time — regardless of the dates.
Example: If your tier allows 3 outstanding reservations and you already have 3 future courts booked, the system will block any new booking until one of those existing reservations is completed or canceled.
Yes — your outstanding reservation count includes all future bookings regardless of whether they are during peak or off-peak hours. The system tracks your total number of reservations, not the type.
You can book as many reservations as your tier allows, but there is a 120-minute daily cap on total court time. Once your reservations for the day add up to 120 minutes, the system will block additional bookings for that day — whether they are peak or off-peak.
This means you can bring non-members onto your off-peak court reservation for a flat guest fee — the rate varies by membership tier.
How it works
No — a reservation is required before using a court for private play or drilling, even if courts appear empty. Whether one court or all 14 are open, please book a court in the app before stepping on.
This helps keep the schedule accurate for everyone and ensures court time is shared fairly among members.
This does not apply to courts designated for Open Play, which are available to join without a reservation.
Court availability shifts between peak and off-peak hours:

Off-Peak Hours
Our priority is always to keep open play and challenge courts available. That said, depending on the scale of an event, PBH may temporarily convert the challenge courts for a limited window of time.
When this happens, it will be communicated in advance so you can plan your play accordingly.
Challenge Courts (Courts 12–14) operate on a winners-stay-on format, with distinctions by court:
Challenge Courts are open play only — no reservations, no ball machines, and no private competitive events on these courts.
Under the old per-court system, players placed their paddles at a specific court and waited for that exact court to open up.
With the new single paddle system (centralized queue), all players place their paddles in one main line. When any court opens up, the next group in line takes it — regardless of which court it is.
We are transitioning to a single paddle system to make gameplay fairer, reduce wait times, and build a stronger community. It ensures a steady, efficient flow of games across all available courts and prevents bottlenecks at specific courts.
When placing your paddle into the single system, you have two options:
If your group isn’t full when it’s your turn for a court, you have two choices:
Yes! Every group that jumps onto an open play court must grab their skill card and display it at the court. This signals that you are looking for players at that skill level — anyone matching that level is welcome to join your rotation.
Open play is designed specifically for community mixing and rotation. If you want to play a closed game exclusively with your own group without others rotating in, you will need to formally book a private court.
You may also group four paddles at the end of the Single Paddle Queue to rotate into Open Play courts for a single game with your group.
When you are at the front of the paddle line — the “Next Up” position — keep an eye on all the courts. As soon as a game finishes and players call “Court open!”, your group grabs your paddles and your skill card and heads to that court.

Cancellations
Cancellation requests may be submitted at any time and will take effect at the end of the current paid billing cycle. Your membership will remain active through that date. No refunds or prorated credits will be issued for unused days.
Suspensions (Pauses)
Suspension requests may be submitted at any time and take effect immediately upon approval. Suspensions must be a minimum of 30 days and are intended for qualifying circumstances such as medical issues or recovery, military deployment, or extended travel. Short-term absences — including vacations or scheduling conflicts — do not qualify, and supporting documentation may be required.
At the end of the suspension period, your membership will be reactivated and your billing date will be extended by the length of the pause.
It is the member’s responsibility to ensure they receive confirmation of their request and to follow up if no response is received. Rejoining after cancellation may be subject to a new initiation or enrollment fee.
By proceeding, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
